TV Artists are a like-minded creative group dedicated to improving our community’s quality of life by enhancing cultural arts.
Our strong focus is on building and preserving a regional sense of art and culture by providing education, quality gallery display, poetry and musical performance – all in an atmosphere of encouragement and opportunity.
Our members show and sell their art at Influence Gallery located at 131 SE Third Ave., Hillsboro, Oregon and a second location in the HART Theatre lobby gallery, 185 SE Washington Street, Hillsboro, Oregon. We hold art education classes and seminars which cover topics of interest to artists and the general public as well as other events.
Members are responsible for all aspects of the operation of TV Artists. We have entered in a partnership with HART and share some of the duties. We display our artwork in the lobby and in return we staff the theatre on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon until 5:00 pm while the HART staff are there the rest of the week.
We have a new art show each month with artists rotating space to give everyone equal opportunity while each artist hangs their own art (with guidance from that committee). All member artists hang one-third new work for each show. Individual members are selected to be the featured artists each month on a rotational basis. Featured artists get special mention in press releases, prime placement in the gallery and may display more pieces of their art in the gallery for that month.
We have an artists reception on the First Tuesday event of each month which coincides with Hillsboro's Artwalk. Press coverage is handled by TV Artists. Along with a featured artist, we have a musician entertaining for the reception along with refreshments.
Members are expected to do their part by volunteering to sit the gallery for at least one five hour shift a month and by participating in all aspects of planning, promotion and organization of gallery activities.
The cost of an active artist’s membership in the gallery is $35/month to show in one location (your choice) or $50/month to show in both locations plus 25% commission on sales made at the Third Ave. gallery and 30% at HART (25% to TV Artists and 5% goes to HART theatre). There is a $50 administration fee and members pay first and last month paid in advance when they join.
Tualatin Valley Artists is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation and accepts donations that are fully tax deductible. TV Artists is listed on Oregon Cultural Trust's non-profits that qualifies a donor for Oregon's unique tax credit. For more information go to www.oregonculturaltrust.com.
